Our first tour in 1994 was the Douglas Island Nature Hike. We had a staff of 10. Today, we have over 100 folks on our team and the tours have extended to whale watching and beyond. Each is designed to give you an unmatched experience with Alaska and a connection to this place that changes your perspective on the world.

In 1994, Gastineau Guiding launched its first trip with a simple idea: Alaska is best experienced when you’re close to the water, the ice, and the land. And that kind of up-close-and-personal encounter with this place is better when it's led by people who really know Juneau.

With those things in mind, we started taking people on trips to see the wildlife and nature in southeast Alaska and we’ve been doing it for more than 30 years now. We’re a family business of folks who call Juneau home. Every adventure, whether we’re whale watching or hiking to see a glacier, has been planned and refined to create a tour that keeps you safe, peak your curiosity, and keeps you comfortable.
