Every season, the guests who join us on our trips capture incredible images: whales breaching, bald eagles soaring, and vibrant plant life that make up the Southeast Alaskan rainforest.

We love to highlight and share those photos through our annual contest. Winners are selected by our team and the photos are highlighted on our website and social media pages.

Gastineau Guiding Capture Juneau Photo Contest

Term: All 2026 Capture Juneau Photo Contest photographs must be taken between April 14th 2026 – Oct 14th, 2026.

Who May Enter: The contest is limited to those guests who have taken a tour with Gastineau Guiding Company (GGC) tours in 2026. Only paying guests are eligible. Employees of GGC and their immediate family members are not eligible. Photographic submissions must be posted no later than October 14th, 2026. By submitting a photo, each entrant agrees to the Official Contest Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in the

Official Contest Rules: Submissions may be posted at any time during the entry period.

Details for Entry: Eligible guests may submit up to THREE photos. Photos may be in color or black and white with a minimum resolution requirement of 120dpi, at W:2560 X H:1440. Video submissions are not accepted at this time. Photos submitted with recognizable people must be limited to those participants traveling on tour (each participant signs a model release at the beginning of the tour). You have the option to either mail or email your entry photos (physical address listed at the bottom of the web page).

Contest Prizes: A third place prize, a runner-up prize and a grand prize will be awarded. Limit one prize per entrant. Prizes
awarded are as follows:
Grand Prize = $500.00 USD
Runner-Up Prize = $300.00 USD
Third Place Prize = $100.00 USD

Winners are required to sign and return within ten (10) days a W-9 IRS Form for tax purposes. Failure to execute and deliver any required documents to GGC by the specified deadline may result in disqualification from the contest, and selection of an alternate potential winner.

Details on Judging and Data Privacy

Judging: GGC will judge collective submissions and select a grand prize winner, a runner up and third place award based on the following criteria: (1) Creativity; (2) Photographic Quality; and (3) Representation of the tour experience. Winners will be chosen before the conclusion of each calendar year and notified by phone and/or email. Decisions are solely at the discretion of GGC and are final and binding.

Limitation of Liability: By entering this contest, all entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless GGC, its agents, employees, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded here under. GGC assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay or any combination thereof, as related to this contest. By entering this contest, the entrant hereby grants to GGC a nonexclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute and publicly display the photographs submitted to GGC; with the right to use your name, ship name, Gastineau Guiding tour choice and photographs in any online promotions and/or print publications.

Data Privacy: Entrants agree that only their name may be processed, shared, and otherwise used solely for the purposes within the context of the contest and any other promotional purposes as outlined in these Official Photo Contest Rules. Any other personal data will remain confidential and not used for any purpose other than notification of a prize award.
